My family comes from Cornwall, the setting for On The Edge, and my love of the Cornish landscape and culture dates back to childhood holidays in Charlestown the historic port which doubled as Truro Harbour in ‘Poldark’ and where my grandfather was a vicar. However I do consider myself to be northern through and through as I was born in Newcastle Upon Tyne and brought up near Liverpool although I have spent the last thirty years living and working in France.

I have two cats, one husband and a wonderful blended family of three sons, one daughter and six grandchildren.
I currently live at the end of the earth (Finistère) where I write every morning in between staring out at the sea and making cups of tea.
Apart from reading, writing and walking the coastal paths, my other love is amateur dramatics and I’ve played the Wicked Stepmother in a play about Snow White’s life after divorcing Prince Charming and marrying Grumpy, an Englishwoman who has mistaken a Parisian brothel for an orphanage, Calamity Jane and a crazed journalist.

On The Edge is my debut novel but a second book featuring Jen is under way.
I love hearing from readers and am very happy to join book club or writers group meetings via Zoom, Facetime, or any other meeting software. You can contact me via my Contact page on this site or catch up with me on Facebook or Twitter. Let me know what you thought of On The Edge.
